Need for computers

The term “Computer” is derived from the latin word “Computare” which means “to compute” or to calculate, so it is considered to be a calculating device. In fact the main objective of inventing the computer was to create a fast calculating machine. But now-a-days more than 75% of non-mechanical or non-numerical work is carried out by the computers. Hence the definition of computer merely as calculating device is to ignore over 75% of its works. The use of Information Technology is well recognized. This has become must for the survival of business houses with the grouping information technology trends. Their application includes in business, industry, home, at play, education, training, entertainment, arts, Science and Engineering, Mathematics and many more.
